The incident took place on September 9 in Edinburgh, Indiana.

Just after noon, crews with Edinburgh Fire and Rescue were dispatched after a report of a semi truck leaving the roadway and plowing into a home. When they arrived, crews found the truck driver “entrapped deep into the structure.”

The crash sent the cab all the way into the building, but fortunately there was no one home at the time of the crash.

The truck driver, later identified as 56 year old Alabama resident Donald J. Harrington, was extracted by rescue crews and taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Harrington later told police that he had unloaded a partial load and was en route back to the interstate when he “blacked out” while going around a curve, the Indy Channel reports.

The crash caused an estimated $100,000 in damage.

Police say that the incident remains under investigation.
